CORRELATION STUDY BETWEEN BURDENS AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN CAREGIVERS OF DEPENDENT ELDERLY IN PRAWIRODIRJAN VILLAGE

Background: Aging is synonymous with decreased body function due to natural factors (aging process) and diseases. The elderly who are unable do their activities can cause dependence on the caregiver. In carrying out its role, caregiver has burdens that affect life quality. Objective: To measure correlation between burden quality of in caregivers dependent Prawirodirjan Sub-district, Gondomanan District, Yogyakarta Municipality. Materials Methods: This study used a cross-sectional method total sample 33 participants. Caregiver was measured using Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) Reaction Assessment (CRA) questionnaires. Measurements were conducted WHO QoL BREF questionnaire. Spearman rank analysis administered conduct statistical analysis. Results: There very significant negative correlations caregiver’s physical health domain, psychological social relations environment domain. positive self-esteem domain caregiver's family support impacts financial daily schedule impact as well there Conclusion: Village, higher caregiver, lower life, conversely.
